Introduction

This policy explains what happens when you visit straightarrow.tech, operated by Straight Arrow Technology, LLC. The short version: we collect very little. This is a brochure website for a solo consulting practice, not a platform that tracks your every move.

Your use of this site is also governed by our Terms of Use.

Analytics (Google Analytics 4)

We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how visitors use this site. GA4 sets cookies on your browser, including:

  • _ga — Distinguishes unique visitors. Expires after 2 years.
  • _ga_[container-id] — Maintains session state. Expires after 2 years.

GA4 may also set additional short-lived cookies (e.g., _gid, 24-hour expiration) depending on configuration. Cookie specifications may change; see Google's documentation for the most current details.

Analytics cookies are only set if you accept them via the cookie consent banner that appears on your first visit. If you decline, no analytics cookies are set and GA4 does not load. You can also block cookies using the methods listed in the "Your Choices" section below.

GA4 collects information such as:

  • Pages you visit and how long you stay
  • Your device type, browser, and operating system
  • Approximate geographic location (city level)
  • How you arrived at the site (referral source)

GA4 does not collect your name, email, or any personally identifiable information. GA4 does not display your full IP address in analytics reports, and Google states that IP addresses are not logged or stored by GA4. However, your IP address is transmitted to Google's servers (including servers in the United States) as part of the connection.

Our GA4 property retains user-level analytics data for 14 months. Aggregated, non-identifiable reports are retained indefinitely.

Hosting (Cloudflare)

This site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare may set a __cf_bm cookie (expires after 30 minutes) to distinguish humans from bots and protect the site from abuse. Cloudflare also maintains standard server logs (IP addresses, request timestamps, pages requested) as part of normal web hosting operations.

Cloudflare retains server log data in accordance with their data retention policies. For more information, see Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.

Google Fonts

This site uses fonts served by Google Fonts. When you load a page, your browser connects to Google's servers (which may be located in the United States) to download the font files. Google may log this connection. No cookies are set by Google Fonts.

International Data Transfers

Information collected through this site may be transferred to and processed in the United States and other countries where Google and Cloudflare operate. These transfers are subject to the privacy policies and data processing terms of those providers, which may include Standard Contractual Clauses or other approved transfer mechanisms.

Legal Basis for Processing (EEA Visitors)

If you are located in the European Economic Area, our legal basis for collecting and using the information described in this policy depends on the data concerned:

  • Legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR): We use analytics to understand site traffic and improve our services. We have assessed that this interest does not override your fundamental rights, given the minimal data collected and the absence of profiling or ad targeting.
  • Consent: Where required by local law for non-essential cookies, we will seek your consent before setting analytics cookies.

You may object to processing based on legitimate interests by blocking analytics via the methods described in the "Your Choices" section.

This site contains links to external services, including Fantastical (for scheduling) and LinkedIn. When you click these links, you leave straightarrow.tech and are subject to those services' own privacy policies.

What We Don't Collect

This site has no forms, no user accounts, no payment processing, and no newsletter signup. The email copy button in the contact section works entirely in your browser — no data is sent to any server when you use it.

Your Choices

You can control how this site interacts with your browser:

Do Not Track: This site does not currently respond to "Do Not Track" browser signals, as there is no industry-standard technology for honoring them. You can opt out of analytics tracking using the methods listed above.

California and Florida Residents: Based on our current operations, Straight Arrow Technology, LLC does not meet the thresholds that trigger obligations under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) or the Florida Digital Bill of Rights. If this changes, we will update this policy to reflect your rights under those laws.

Children's Privacy

This site is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. For material changes that significantly affect how we handle personal information, we will make reasonable efforts to provide prominent notice on the site.
